Trypsin (1:250)
Powdered Standard Grade
General Description: Trypsin is a proteolytic enzyme that catalyses the hydrolysis of proteins to form smaller polypeptide units. It is produced in the pancreas of invertebrates as the inactive proenzyme trypsinogen. When converted to its active form, trypsin cleaves peptide bonds on the carboxyl side of the amino acids arginine, lysine and s-aminoethyl cysteine. There is little or no cleavage at arginyl-proline or lysyl-proline bonds.
Bovogen Biologicals Trypsin products are extracted from porcine pancreatin using a combination of isoelectric precipitation, salt precipitation, microfiltration and ultrafiltration. The purified product is lyophilised in the presence of a plant derived excipient which provides superior solubility and stability. Bovogen Biologicals' Standard Grade Lyophilised Trypsin is an ideal general purpose reagent for both industrial and research applications.
Raw Material Origin: The raw materials of animal origin used in the manufacture of Bovogen Biologicals’ trypsin are sourced from porcine pancreatic glands of Australian animals which have been veterinary ante- and post-mortem inspected and approved for human consumption.
Appearance: White coloured lyophilized powder.
Applications: Applications for Powdered Standard Grade Trypsin include:
- Proteomics
